New DSTV subscription rate for June 2020

Leading Satellite cable TV service provider, DSTV, operated by Multichoice has increased the subscription rate of it Packages, Bouquets, and Products – which will start June 1, 2020.
The increase rate which will commence from June, 2020, PARADISE NEWS learnt is as a result of the 7.5% VAT (Value Added Tax) by the Nigerian Government. The price hike will affect Nigerians alone, for now.
Below is the New DSTV rates effective from June 1st, 2020:
1. DSTV Access: ₦2,000 to ₦2,225
2. DSTV Yanga: ₦2,500 to ₦2,565
3. DSTV Family: ₦4,000 to ₦4,300
4. DSTV Confam: ₦4,500 to ₦4,615
5. DSTV Compact: ₦6,800 to ₦6,975
6. DSTV Compact +: ₦10,650 to ₦10,925
7. DSTV Premium: ₦15,800 to ₦16,200

3. DSTV Family: ₦4,000 to ₦4,300

Current DSTV Packages, Bouquets, and Prices in Nigeria:
DSTV currently offer five bouquets in Nigeria plus other add-on. DSTV initial access cost is around ₦9,900 to ₦65,000. This will include cost of satellite dish (with dish kit), decoder, and cables. This price may also be bundled with subscription for one month or more. You will pay for installation separately.
New DSTV Access Price = ₦2,255 per Month:
DSTV Access bouquet offers over 90 channels mostly local and international TV channels, like BBC World, Telemundo, MNET Movies Zone, Fox Life, ROK3, Zee World, Africa Magic Family, Discovery Family HD, NatGeo Wild, AIT, SilverBird, Channels, NTA I, SuperSport BLITZ, SuperSport 9, SuperSport 10, Al jezeera, Mindset Learn, E! The Yanga bouquet looks similar to DSTV Access, but boasts of over 109 channels mostly local and international TV channels. Yanga adds a couple of new channels to the Access channels like Africa Magic Epic, ROK2, RealTime, MTV Base, and EL.
However, all the highlight Access channels are available like BBC World, Telemundo, MNET Movies Zone, Fox Life, ROK3, Zee World, Africa Magic Family, Discovery Family HD, NatGeo Wild, AIT, SilverBird, Channels, NTA I, SuperSport BLITZ, SuperSport 9, SuperSport 10, Al jezeera, Mindset Learn, E! Entertainment, Jim Jam, Disney Junior, Africa Magic (World, Hausa & Yoruba only) and so on.

DSTV Family is likely to be the most popular DSTV package; it offers a reasonable selection of TV channels at a reasonable price. The Family package offers you all DSTV Access channels and more.
Channels Added to the Family package include CNN, ESPN Classic, MNET City, Universal Channel, Fox, Africa Magic Epic, ROK2, BBC Lifstyle, Food Network, SuperSport HD 7, SuperSport 8 HD, Boomerang, MTV Base, Cartoon Network, and so on, over 100 channels in all.
New DSTV Confam Price = ₦4,615 per Month:
The Confam bouquet looks similar to DSTV Family, but boasts of over 120 channels mostly local and international TV channels
You get all the DSTV Access channels plus CNN, ESPN Classic, MNET City, Universal Channel, Fox, Africa Magic Epic, ROK2, BBC Lifstyle, Food Network, SuperSport HD 7, SuperSport 8 HD, Boomerang, MTV Base, Cartoon Network.

New DSTV Compact Price = ₦6,975 per Month:
DSTV Compact offers you all Family channels and more. Channels Added to the Compact package includes MNET Movies Action, MNET Movies All Stars, Studio Universal HD, VUZU, BBC Brit, BET, MTV, TNT Africa, Africa Magic Urban, ROK, National Geographic, Discovery ID HD, SuperSport HD 3, SuperSport HD 4, WWE Channel HD, Disney, Disney XD, Trace Mziki, Sky News, Ebony Life TV and so on, over 130 channels in all.
If you need more Exciting channels then, the Compact bouquet is a good choice. HD channels are also available in this package.
This is usually the entry package that comes with your initial DSTV purchase. You get it free for one month with decoder, remote, dish, and dish kit all for 9,900 Naira.
You can always subscribe to a higher or lower package after the first depending on what your budget can handle.
New DSTV Compact Plus Price = ₦10,925 per Month:
DSTV Compact Plus offers all DSTV Compact channels in addition to more sports channels. The sports channels added are SuperSport HD 5 and SuperSport HD 6.
It is aimed at giving Sports lovers in Nigeria and across Africa access to premium sports at a more affordable price than is possible with the Premium package.
Subscribers to the bouquet will be able to watch EPL matches, Champions League matches as well as other live sports like the Italian Serie A, Spanish La Liga as well as rugby, golf, tennis, athletics, boxing and motorsport.
However, it is not only sports channels that are added to the Compact Plus compared to the Compact plus package.
Other additional channels include; 1Magic HD, Africa Magic Showcase HD, Discovery Channel HD, Lifetime Entertainment, Crime and Investigation Network, History Channel, CGTN News
If the only reason you subscribe to the Premium bouquet is to watch sports, especially football then you are better off with Compact Plus.
News DSTV Premium Price = ₦16,200 per Month:
DSTV Premium package is the high-end package offering you all available DSTV video, and audio channels. The last time we checked, the Premium package offers over 150 exciting channels.
Channels exclusive to Premium package include Mnet Africa HD, MNET Movies Smile HD, MNET Movies Action+ HD, MNET Movies Premiere, Comedy Central, TLC Entertainment, CNC World, all HD channels, and so on.
Note that despite Compact Plus being all about sports, not all sports channels are available on the package. To get all sports channels, you will have to subscribe to the Premium package.
Sports channels exclusive to the Premium package include: SuperSport HD 1, SuperSport HD 2, SuperSport HD 11, and SuperSport HD 12. The Premium package is for people who want nothing less than the best.
If you want to receive HD channels then you need to go for the Premium as HD channels currently exclusive on the Preminm package.
If you also want to watch 100% matches of the English Premier league, the premium package is your best bet. You will also be able to access the Premier league’s 24-hour full HD content service, if you own a HD PVR decoder or Explora Decoder.
Subscribing to the premium package means you can stream movies and series on Showmax free. Showmax currently costs 2,900 Naira per month.
