Jigawa state government confirms mysterious deaths of 92 persons within one week in a local govt area. Rules out COVID19 complications
The committee constituted by the Jigawa state government to investigate the mysterious deaths in Hadejia local government area in the state, says investigation so far has shown that 92 bodies were buried in the two cemeteries in the area in just one week.
Two days ago, there were fears in the state after it was reported that persons who are over the age of fifty, have died in one week.
Chairman of the state's investigation committee, Dr Abdulwahab Mohammed. who spoke to newsmen today May 7, said only one of the deceased had symptoms of COVID19.
''We went to Hadejia together with WHO and NCDC to find out what exactly was happening. We collected three sets of data. We collected data from the hospitals over a week period indicating how many people have died.We found out that there were a total of 44 deaths in the General hospital from on the 28th of April to 5th of May. That was the data from the hospital.We also went to the community. We were able to do community survey and find out the total number of death. We discovered that there were 46 deaths within that same period.We now said there is no data evidence of deaths than the graves where these people were buried. There are only two cemeteries in the community. We went there and with the assistance of the undertakers, we were able to count the number of graves that were made over that one week and we discovered that there were 92 graves.None of them had history of travel to any state where there are cases of COVID and none of them also had history of contact with anyone that was suspected or confirmed to be having COVID.70% of the deceased had pre-existing illnesses like Diabetes, dementia, Chronic kidney disease.It is only one of them that had symptoms that were suggesting of COVID19'' he said

It surprises me how these folk think. No autopsy nothing. diabetes and heart conditions doesn't kill massively all of a sudden, they have been living with it ever. What will u gain by denying the obvious. That is how Kano denied for weeks and thereafter begging/shouting for help.

Always quick to rule out covid-19 without evidence, same thing they did in Kano State. Our brothers in the north are so use to telling lies (both those in govt and the ones selling Suya, ect). The world is watching us, and now as usual no proper statistics of covid-19 is coming out of the country. Too bad nija...

I don't understand this country for Godsake, is there no any professional health official in that state that can do a postmortem or try to test the bodies to determine what kill them exactly, not this theory or story for Godsake, are we so darft or that backward in the country for Godsake or is it because it's northern state. This is not the time for cover up for Godsake. Where's Boss musterfa? Where's NCDC director? What the fuck is going on this this side of the world?

Its obvious that this is arising from Covid complications due to underlying illnesses! Chikena. "Audio autopsy " may reveal more. Also the Almajiris travelling up and down can infect masses of people in any State. Very sad indeed.

Ignorance is deadlier than Corona virus, so with all that is happening around the world they still refer to this deaths as mysterious deaths? Some people have metallic ears and rubber eyes. The earlier people in the north wakes up and face reality the better for them. Corona virus is real people.

These deaths in Kano and Jigawa and parts of yobe are they being captured in the covid-19 daily update by NCDC? Or they are being ignored to be malaria, meningitis,brokege, ignorance, illiteracy etc as claimed by the people to be the cause of deaths.

The problem is that doctors now stay away from sick people, any patient taking to any hospital now is a suspected case of Covid-19, that is why doctors and nurses don't come out to attend to sick people especially those brought in as emergency, am talking out of experience we took my sister to the 4 hospital and non were willing to treat, until we got someone that knows someone that knows a doctor and convinced them that she had other sickness not Covid-19 before she got treated. She would have died if not for this contact, so am sure this also could be the cause of this mysterious death because a lot of people are not getting medical care because the health workers are running from the virus, so they have no option but to remain in the house and die.

There's nothing mysterious here but covid-19. Why is it now when there's outbreak of covid-19 that the so-called mysterious death came? Kano said the same thing but later admitted the truth. The more they failed to admit the truth, the more they may die God forbid.
